Learn Everything About Online Pai Gow

Pai Gow is a kind of poker game is also called “double – hand poker. Tracing its roots to an ancient Chinese gaming, pai Gow literally means “make nine”. It is Chinese game believed to be thousands of years of old and played with Chinese domino tile set. The game pai gow poker was created by Sam Torosian and Fred Wolf. The beauty of this game has attracted the curiosity of gaming audiences in some cities like Nevada and California.

Pai gow is an interesting form of poker combining skill and luck, in which the player must manage two hands of cards instead of only one, and bets on whether those hands are better than those of the dealer. It can be an intimidating game for beginners but it is comparatively simple to play once you understand the fundamental rules of the game. There a a number of pushes which makes for an annoying game for new players. If you can fully understand the rules as with any game, you can appreciate the way Pai gow is played.

Now, in with the advent of online casino, you can also play pai gao through the internet. Online pai gow is not far different from the land based casino game. There aren't very many variables in this game, so it follows that there are very few differences between online pai gow poker and the actual casino version of the game. One thing you will notice immediately is their biggest visible difference and it is you're being alone with the dealer. There is only one player in the online version unlike the usual land based casino version with 5-6 players.

To start the game, like in any other types of poker, a player begins the game by placing a bet. Then dealer then deals each player seven cards which must be arranged into one hand of five and one hand of two. The dealer also receives seven cards and will arrange his cards into one hand of five and one hand of two too.

The hand with five cards is called a “high hand” and the hand with the two cards is called “low hand”. Your high hand must have a higher value than the low hand in order to qualify. The objective of pai gow poker is for both of your hands to be better than both of the dealer's hands.

Pai gow has somewhat different winning hand combinations than other forms of poker. For beginners, pai gow uses a deck of 53 cards including one joker or wild card. The joker can only be used as an ace or to complete three hand combinations: a straight, a flush or a straight flush. Another characteristic of pai gow that a player should remember is that if a player's hand and the dealer's hand produce the same value, the result is not a push. The dealer wins the bet. Too sad but that's just the way it is.
